The "Dawn McVey Colour Combo"

When I look at Raspberry Fizz, my first thought is, "Dawn McVey". I thought it was about time I tackled the very well recognised Dawn's colour combos (to be honest - because I got stuck and needed something a little different). She's such an inspiration. I could go on a bit more, but I think I'll stop here, because I don't think you need me to reinforce this well-known fact ;)

So here are a couple of cards I made for a custom order (did I ever mention I managed to sell a couple of cards? Totally excited). Anyway, this lovely lady asked me for another card for her niece so I was throwing around some ideas, and had that "light bulb moment".

I must have known she'd buy two in fact (she had a second thought and bought one more for her daughter too), because I just made two in different colours. And it was time to go back to my famous(?) windows with PTI stamp packaging :)

I kept it fairly simple. I was specifically asked to have numbers on the cards so By the Numbers dies featuring yet again. I added a bit of glamour with rhinestones over the Fancy Flourishes (and don't they just bring out those flourishes?) and a bit of glitter under the window (in that rim around the circle).

Some close-up views for each card.

And here's another card with more of Dawn's colour combos - Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate and Aqua Mist.

I felt a little bad yesterday not having used my Cupcakes Collection for a while. So I got it out. But I still can't seem to get that nice combinations to make the cupcakes look really awesome :( Maybe this will be my new excuse for more inks... haha (mind you, I'm in desperate need for a chocolate ink. My SU! Early Espresso is far too dark...)

Btw, there's a bit of Tin Types impression over the Raspberry Fizz card base, but I doubt the photo does justice to show it.

Anyway, I'm going to make a dash now! My PTI October release has touched down on my doorstep this morning and I want to play with my Tremendous Treats and In the Meadow sets, not to mention the Front & Centre die! Oh this is going to be good!
Thanks for coming! :)

Three great cards today! Excellent viewing. I love how you have used Fancy Flourishes in white on dark card stock. I think I'll try that. And congrats on selling some cards. Keep it up and you will be able to pay for medical school!

Congratulations on the sale of your cards. The two birthday ones are beautiful. Love the color combinations of both. Those flourishes make the cards, elegant & feminine.
