Assorted Colours Christmas Cards

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all getting cracking with the annual Christmas card-making madness! I am beginning to get a little tired trying to make new things all the time so I decided to do a set of Christmas card in assorted colours!

It's a reasonably simple card and can easily be mass-produced. It certainly is not a traditional sort of card, but it works for people down South where Christmas sits in the middle of summer.

Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 1 goes perfectly with the new Papertrey Ink Over Under Easy set and make a nice focal point. I just added a bit of bow to the mat and also stamped it with coordinating inks in the background.

This could easily be sold as a set or gifted as one. The Over Under Easy set has lots of other sentiments so could easily be used for other occasions too!

Anyway, hope you liked these. Will try and post more cards later.

PS - I have officially become a doctor! Eek! First day at work tomorrow!!!

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
STAMP: [PTI] Over Under Easy: Holiday Additions, Background Basics: Sheet Music

PTI Blog Hop [Oct 2012]

Hello everyone,

I thought I was a little too late to make something for the blog hop, but it looks like it hasn't even started yet! Woohoo for time being so ahead in New Zealand. I very very quickly made something whilst the idea was still floating around my head.

Anyway, this month's blog hop theme was non-traditional Christmas colours...

So I chose the above color scheme for my card. I was going to use another initially, but then decided I needed something a bit brighter. After all, it is Christmas we are talking about.

Basically, all I did was get strips of cardstock of the above colour scheme and glued them on the white card base. Then I overlayed it with an impressed and die cut mat with a bit of foam tape. Just to go along with the colours, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment with multiple colours.

Here's another view... because I feel like it. Haha.

A reasonably CAS card because of all the white spaces but has enough on it I think. I did put a wee holly die cut in the corner for finishing touches.

Thanks for coming by :) Hope you liked my take on the challenge.

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
STAMP: [PTI] Wonderful Words: Holiday

PTI Blog Hop March 2012

Hi everyone. Hopefully this scheduled thing posts this at the right time for the PTI Blog Hop. This month, it's all about Spring and colours aqua and yellow!

Here's the inspiration photo...

Those of you who came earlier to my blog will know that I was in the process of making baby cards to thank two newly made parents for letting me be present at their special moment when their little one was born ;) So here's the other card I made.

Unfortunately the glitter didn't come out all that well, but it's sitting there in the while gaps between the Aqua Mist and Lemon Tart panels!

I got another use out of the Bundle of Love set. Sentiment is from Night Night Moon set. I really feel that there is something still missing in this card as a final touch but I gave up on it after staring at it all day.

Hope you enjoyed my take on the coloured panels and glitter in between :)

I'm going to try and make another few cards to share over time while I'm away now!

Thanks for coming!

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
STAMP: [PTI] Bundle of Love, Night Night Moon
INK: [PTI] Dark Chocolate, Summer Sunrise; [StazOn] Tuxedo Black
PAPER: [PTI] Stamper's Select White, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist
OTHER: [PTI] Grosgrain ribbon (white); [KaiserCraft] Rhinestone; [Copic] Sketch Marker (E00, E21, T1, Y35, Y38)

The "Dawn McVey Colour Combo"

When I look at Raspberry Fizz, my first thought is, "Dawn McVey". I thought it was about time I tackled the very well recognised Dawn's colour combos (to be honest - because I got stuck and needed something a little different). She's such an inspiration. I could go on a bit more, but I think I'll stop here, because I don't think you need me to reinforce this well-known fact ;)

So here are a couple of cards I made for a custom order (did I ever mention I managed to sell a couple of cards? Totally excited). Anyway, this lovely lady asked me for another card for her niece so I was throwing around some ideas, and had that "light bulb moment".

I must have known she'd buy two in fact (she had a second thought and bought one more for her daughter too), because I just made two in different colours. And it was time to go back to my famous(?) windows with PTI stamp packaging :)

I kept it fairly simple. I was specifically asked to have numbers on the cards so By the Numbers dies featuring yet again. I added a bit of glamour with rhinestones over the Fancy Flourishes (and don't they just bring out those flourishes?) and a bit of glitter under the window (in that rim around the circle).

Some close-up views for each card.

And here's another card with more of Dawn's colour combos - Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate and Aqua Mist.

I felt a little bad yesterday not having used my Cupcakes Collection for a while. So I got it out. But I still can't seem to get that nice combinations to make the cupcakes look really awesome :( Maybe this will be my new excuse for more inks... haha (mind you, I'm in desperate need for a chocolate ink. My SU! Early Espresso is far too dark...)

Btw, there's a bit of Tin Types impression over the Raspberry Fizz card base, but I doubt the photo does justice to show it.

Anyway, I'm going to make a dash now! My PTI October release has touched down on my doorstep this morning and I want to play with my Tremendous Treats and In the Meadow sets, not to mention the Front & Centre die! Oh this is going to be good!
Thanks for coming! :)
