Belated May the 4th be with you...

So my weekend was a little busy, but all good because I managed to have a "Craftanoon" with some friends. I still don't have a single friend nearby who stamps as seriously as I do (that also happen to be in my age group!). However, it turns out my friends are into a bit of crafts and already had their initial "Craftanoon" making candles, and wanted something new. Therefore, with Mothers' Day looming ahead this weekend, we proposed to hold a stamping session.

I do admit, I managed to drag most of my posessions and overwhelmed the crowd. They did think it was all very cool though!

It was a little difficult to get much done as I spent most of the afternoon showing how to stamp and explaining what on earth that green machine called Cuttlebug was for.

Anyway, I did manage to make a Mothers' Day card. I was determined to use my new sets that had arrived last week. Hello, Foxy was out of question since I ripped the stamp into two after 2nd use :(

But anyway, here it is...

I also made a card before my Hello, Foxy stamp split into two. I had to make a thank you card to someone at the hospital who kindly donated an old radio for my Girl Guides to pull apart one night! :)

Hope you liked the cards. I am a little tied up sorting out raffle tickets for Crohn's and Colitis Group, so will hold off on listing all my supplies. If anyone wants to know where I got things from, it's all from Papertrey Ink!

See you laters!

Stars & Scallops Glitterama

Sorry I've been quiet lately! I forget how busy it can get with school! I'm down to my last week before Christmas break starts, so hopefully some more cards next week. In the meantime, I need to do some literature search and study!

I felt that I should update my blog today, so I just grabbed whatever cardstocks came to my hand and went crafty. I had no plans whatsoever making this card. I just went with the flow.

I knew I hadn't been crafty for a while when I couldn't score the cardstock in the right place!!! I ended up with a card that was not scored down the middle. So to make up for this mistake, I scalloped the edges and put a Raspberry Fizz and Summer Sunrise cardstocks inside the Hawaiian Shores card base. Now it looks like I've purposefully layered them. Ha!

Then I got stuck again. But decided you couldn't go wrong with glitter. So ran a strip of double sided tape down the middle. A sentiment to go with the stars, and even more glitter. That Prisma glitter is trouble. It leaves such a mess, but it's so so so pretty!

Anyway, that's it dor today. It's quite a simple card, but girly enough for your nieces/daughters (I don't have either).

Thanks for coming by. I should have more cards next week (hopefully!).

When By the Numbers meets Star Prints

Yeah, it's one of those days. Two posts in one day!

So what happens when By the Numbers die collection meet Star Prints at Euna's place? You get a card. Duh. Sorry, that was a lame joke. It's just one of those days.

I had this realisation the other day that I really don't have much masculine cards. My good friend's birthday was last week and I couldn't believe I could not find a suitable card amongst my stash to give him! Anyway, I had to cook something up that was pretty average on the spot, but he appreciated it ;)
So here I am on a mission to make cards that may be more suitable for guys. Something less pink, less pastel and less flower-power it is.

I'm actually very happy with this. I had this piece of cardstock I had rounded the corners of, and it's just been sitting there in my pile forever. I just didn't know what to do with it, and voila! I just knew what to do with it today. Don't you just love it when that happens?

Just a close-up view to show you what an amazing job foam squares/tapes can do. They're magic! Lol. I'm waiting for my Star Punch from my last order, but it seems to be doing a world tour atm *sigh*

Btw, was anyone wondering what happened to my bed (where my cards are usually photographed)? It's still there. But I've devised a better way to take photos in the evenings when I have poor lighting. I have this big A2 sketch pad - I open it up and set it up on my desk - with one side leaning on the wall - to use as a backdrop. And my desk lamp uses fluorescent light so gives a good enough lighting for the photos. The result is what you see above. I just saved myself $45-60 for the photo tent (yay more $$$ for stamps) :D

Thanks for coming again! Now off to do some work!
