Make It Monday #52 - Part 2

Hi everyone! Back again as promised! Here's the second card I made last night for this week's MIM :)
It's rather weird having an umbrella that's folded and getting blown away. Steph tells me it might be suitable for Melbourne. I think I might send this to a friend in Wellington, our capital city. It's famous for being windy (my friend says it's a city where traffic lights sway from side to side in the wind haha).

Sorry about the shocking quality yet again. It's Aqua Mist base with my last little piece of white cardstock T_T

Anyway, that's it for now. Thanks for coming by!

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
STAMP: [PTI] Scattered Showers, Tiny Tags I, Tiny Tags II
INK: [PTI] Aqua Mist; [SU!] Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze
PAPER: [PTI] Stamper's Select White, Aqua Mist

Make It Monday #52

Hello everyone.

I couldn't participate in the PTI 5th Anniversary Day 2 challenge due to lack of a printer, so I went and played along with the new Make It Monday!
It was quite a challenge as it was difficult to find a die cut that would work with the technique of stamping both sides. But then, I thought, why bother stamping with matching stamp set? So I went and did something slightly different.
I did make 2 cards today but I will only share 1 for now, because bed is calling out my name!!!

Anyway, I made a die cut of Turning a New Leaf and then folded half of it and then stamped on either side with Text Style I background set.
Ok, past midnight and I should be in bed! Thanks for coming by! I'll share the otherone tomorrow when I get back from GirlGuiding! :)
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
STAMP: [PTI] Thank You, Background Basics: Text Style
INK: [PTI] Fresh Snow; [SU!] Early Espresso
PAPER: [PTI] Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Kraft
OTHER: [PTI] Polka Dot Ribbon (Melon Berry), Mat Stack #5 die, Turning a New Leaf die collection, Woodgrain Impression Plate

Back to School... Almost!

Hi everyone! Last post before my Christmas break ends and I go back to class tomorrow!

I have a couple of cards to share with you today. I've found out that I was down to my last white cardstock O_O It was a bit of a shock, so I'm trying to use up as much Vintage Cream as possible in the meantime. I don't think I'm quite ready to make another cardstock order yet (though I'd love to right now!).

I've gone back to my pastel tones so Melon Berry and Spring Moss it is! :)

I think this is the first card I'm sharing with you using my new Parisian Lace Doily die. It's great, other than the fact that punching out the holes takes forever! I'm seriously thinking I might want that Punch Out tool!!!

The next card is using Modern Wood Mats stamp set. Everything's green here. I love green on white/cream! It has such a soothing, calm look about it. I topped it off with some Turning a New Leaf die cuts and Simply Chartreuse saddle stitch ribbon.

And I have to say, I love the Diamonds Impression Plate <3 It's going on just about all my projects at the moment.

That's it for today. Thanks for coming and visiting! I'll have more up soon. Have a fantastic day!

CAS-Friday Challenge: Happy Clouds & Rainbow

Hello everyone! I told you I'd be back soon! Hehe.

Joyce has kindly reminded me in a comment to my previous post that I should go look at the CAS-Friday Challenge! I had been holding it back due to exams and then I forgot about it (lol). So thanks Joyce for the reminder!

I thought I'd join in on the CAS-Friday Challenge fun a bit more now that I have more time for a bit. So this week's is all about going outside the box. Literally. You have to make a card where things stick outside the card base!

So here's a card I made for it. It's a happy card too!

The whole "go crazy with clouds" has been in my mind for a long time. I just never got around to it because when I received the die from PTI, it was defective :( So it took another month or a bit more before I could get my replacement (sucks living outside the US).

Initially I was going to make a baby card with the clouds, but today, I just thought, "Let's make a rainbow". Must be what my friends call the "post-exam glow" that's making me like this hehe

The rainbow was made using lots of Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles (standard and large) sets. And I did go a little crazy with the clouds and foam tapes. Haha. I just wanted to add some depths to them.

A close-up view to show you all the magic foam squares and tapes add to this card. And I finished it off with a little cute sentiment from Tiny Treats: Birthday set. I was hoping there was "up up and away" but I didn't see one (I thought there was...).

Also, I chopped a centimetre off the bottom of the card base only at the front so I could have the clouds as the base when it's made to stand. I think I should do this more often!

Anyway, I think I'll stop rambling on. Thanks for coming over again!

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
All from PTI unless otherwise stated.
STAMP: Tiny Treats: Birthday
INK: [SU!] Real Red
PAPER: Kraft, Stamper's Select White, Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Hawaiian Shores, Enchanted Evening
OTHER: Clouds die set, [Spellbinders] Nestabilities Standard & Large Circles sets

Circus Consession Cards

Hi everyone! Something a little different today :)

For those who didn't know, I'm a GirlGuiding leader, and for our next meeting (last one for Term 3), my unit is holding a Circus night! I thought I'd be cool and make up some "concession cards" for the different stalls we'll hold on the night, so that girls don't go to same stall over and over again.

It was really fun and quick to make these up once I had the idea running in my head.

I made lots of Half & Half die cuts of my white cardstock and stamped over with the coordinating stamp set. I grabbed out the number stamps from the Banner Builder set and stamped them over in black (I never knew what to do with those, well, now I've found a use for them!). We have 8 stalls (+ 2 food stalls) and luckily 8 fit in quite nicely on the die cuts.

Then I punched a couple of small holes at the end with the smallest eyelet punch tool I had so I could tie a bow with the baker's twine. And finished it all off with stars from Star Prints!

If there is anything I'd change, I'd get the star punch lol I thought, "Oh, I could cut the stars out manually. I can save myself $15." After this, I think I want a punch in my collection lol
Thanks for coming again! :)

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
STAMP: PTI Half & Half, Star Prints, Banner Builder
INK: SU! Calypso Coral, Pool Party, StazOn Tuxedo Black
PAPER: PTI Stamper's Select White
OTHER: Baker's twine (yellow), PTI Half & Half die, Permanent Marker (black), Eyelet Punch

Die Storage with Memorex File-n-Store

Okay, technically, this blog isn't even officially open, but I got so excited about my new die storage that I just had to write something for future reference.

Last week I saw one of the older posts on Papertrey Ink forum by Kimberly about organising dies using Memorex File-n-Store box (it's a CD storage box). The moment I saw the post, I had to go get one myself! The boxes are just so cute and nice to look at.

So anyway, I did some web searching, and surprisingly there actually weren't that many in New Zealand. Luckily Warehouse Stationery had them in stock online. I was tempted to order online, but waited. I was down at one of their local stores getting a ream of printing paper, and did a quick check down the CD/DVD aisle and VOILA! they were sitting there! And even better, in red!

I am very excited having one of these around now. I only have about 4 PTI dies at the moment, but there's a lot more coming in my Stamp-A-Faire order, which has been in transit to NZ forever!

So here it is all opened up! Isn't it just lovely?

The box comes with 40 double-sided CD pockets. I might go buy some more pockets later ;)

And here's what I'd done with the die. The suggestion that Kimberly had was to put the die on one side of the pocket, and use the other side of the same pocket to store your die cuts! How brilliant is that idea? So that's exactly what I've planned to do.

I haven't gotten around to labelling the pockets. You might be able to see that there is a strip at the top for filing purposes. I'll get that done when I get my order, and I'll go put them all in alphabetical order! :D
Anyway, doubt anyone will be able to see this until I open this blog in a few month's time. But thanks for visiting anyway! lol
