If this wasn't a Make It Monday post... I'd have titled this post "Oops I Did It Again (procrastinate)." But, when the new Papertrey Ink MIM video tells you how to make your own washi tapes, how on earth do you resist??? Short answer is, you don't lol
I never used washi tapes before. In fact, I'd never even heard of one until about 2 months back. I have been sorely tempted to buy some, but international shipping and currency conversion is always a bit of a wallet-saver for me (doesn't stop me from buying stamping goodies in the end though - just slows me down a bit).
Anyway, I went ahead and thought I'd join the party with the washi-goodness.
I basically went sort of crazy with this. I used the same technique that was shown on Nichole's blog, except that I used a random double-sided tape I've had for about 15 years. If you're bored reading this, you can try and figure out all the different stamps that went into making those tapes!
I only made a few and sadly didn't have any wide double-sided tapes either :( I sliced a few of them down to different widths and stuck them onto the edge of the card to make it look like striped-patterened paper. Being pedantic, I really didn't like the way it was looking by this stage (my first tape was not placed straight! lol). I sort of cut them all with scissors roughly so the don't exactly have a straight edge to them haha. However, the magic worked somewhere eventually :)
I added a strip of white cardstock to hide the top edge of tapes down the middle and glittered over it for extra kicks ;)
And boy, am I glad to have merged three ink colours into the sentiment. I think it was the best decision I made all day! Totally goes with the washi tapes. I am so going to have to do it more often.
However, next time, I might scratch the washi tape and just use paper. I like the way this looks but I spent more time peeling off the backing of the double-sided tape lol
Anyhow, thanks for coming by again, and I'm off to write a report on my 1.5hr kindergarten visit from today! I got to play with kids! Oh, I love paediatrics <3

Love it - great mixture of colours and patterns and the sentiment fits beautifully. Definitely some 'washi-goodness' :)
This is fabulous, Euna! I love how you made this, but didn't tear the edges! I've never noticed that Beyond Border Basics stamp set before, but you used it really well on your card!
