Baby Card and a Secret Technique!

Hi everyone! Another post today! It seems that I get more efficient with cardmaking as exams get nearer! lol

I'm feeling pretty annoyed at the moment. I just found out my last PTI order has been held up in Customs and I just coughed up a whopping $100 to get it cleared. Totally annoyed. But hey, that's life. I've learnt a lesson today. Thank goodness I've got a personality that doesn't dwell on things for long!

So anyway, moving onto a happier topic, I'm thrilled to share my new card with you all today! I love the way it turned out and I've finally put my Fox & Friends set from Stampin' Up to a better use!

And it features a new technique I thought up the other day (I will make a tutorial on it some time in the future)!

This is what happens when SU! Fox & Friends monkey meets Night Night Moon set from PTI :) It's just so darn cute!

Now... those who have keen eyes of observation may have found what's so special about this card. Anyone noticed that the two monkeys are mirror images of each other? ;) I don't know about you, but sometimes I wished I could flip some stamps around to make them mirror images (which would can't really do).

So I've come up with a way to flip them over! Requires a bit of extra work and means you have to cut the images out, but hey, it works. I was initially going to make these monkeys side-by-side, so that the card was more like for twin births. Might leave it for another day.

Just a close-up view. I gave the monkeys a little shiny touch to their tummies!
I will make up a tutorial on how to flip images later, but here's the secret: you stamp your image on a tissue paper, and it should go right through it, giving you a mirrored image on the back! You glue it to a cardstock (don't use liquid glue!) and then cut it out :D

I think it will be really fun to make baby cards for twins with two monkeys holding hands or something like that.

Anyhow, thanks again for popping around! I love seeing all the lovely comments on my blog every day :)

Very sweet card. The monkeys are adorable with the little rhinestones and I love the way you created a window effect for the sentiment. I need to try that technique!!
